Out of The Past Records – A Vinyl Destination
Here’s a short film about the legendary Chicago record shop Out of the past records. The film from the Chicago Sun Times explores the well-known store, while the good humoured owners Charlie Joe and Marie Henderson recall tales from the shop, along with the customers.
The interviewer Dave Hoekstra is then taken to the viny junkies own Alladin’s cave – The huge shop basement stacked high with vinyl. You can almost picture DJ Shadow flicking through a stack of dusty records in the corner, while avoiding getting crushed by a load of unopened Sugarhill Gang and Grandmaster Flash records.
