We recently discovered Ursula 1000 when we were browsing at pictures for The Hippest Girl in the World and The Citroen He used Michel Quarez’s art work for the cover of his album Mondo Beyondo.

Ursula 1000 is the name used by Brooklyn born DJ Alex Gimeno, under this moniker
he produces his own tunes that blend lounge and breakbeats together. He also produces remixes for other artists such as Quincy Jones and Felix Da Housecat. Some of his own music has been used in episodes of top American TV shows like Modern Family,Sex And The City, Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.

Apart from composing his own groovy tunes, he also has several mixes and remixes on Soundcloud and herewe have one of them for your listening pleasure. Forty Five Minutes of 45 RPM Mod Funk does what it says on the tin, the DJ describes the blended mix as “Killer mod soul and funky boogaloo monsters” and we wont argue with that. So sit back and enjoy three quarters of an hour of non-stop modernist funk and soul.
