With the news that the Costa Concordia has been successfully righted and is now heading off to a big old scrapyard where big old ships go to be scrapped we thought it would be timely to take a look at a life of luxury on the ocean wave 1960s and 1970s style.
Many people swear by cruising on the open seas as the last word in luxurious, relaxing, all mod cons supplied, eat-and-drink-all-you-can-on-the-high-seas holidays. Here at VoEA we wouldn’t necessarily know about such things but we’re saving our pennies for a Fred. Olsen Cruise from Harwich to the Hook of Holland one of these days and if it’s all it’s cracked up to be then we’ll give you a full and thorough review.
In the meantime though settle down in the first class lounge and please help yourself to our extensive buffet of great images – huge sideburns, wide lapels and very short shorts optional.
