We’ve previously featured the advertising of the good people at Lee Jeans (still going strong if you fancy nipping out and buying a pair) when we took a look at their 1971 Lion Head campaign which if you check out the images is pretty self-explanatory.

Now though we fast-forward to 1975 and the era of leisure suits or rather Leesure suits – a stunning combination of smart-casual tailoring that some of our colleagues can even remember wearing during the halcyon days of the long hot summer of 1976, sitting in the car with a coke and a packet of cheese and onion crisps while mum and dad enjoyed themselves in the pub. Not that we’re bitter or anything, honest.

Feast your eyes on this bonanza of mid-seventies sartorial elegance and wonder whether the 100% Dacron polyester really was the cause of all those cases of spontaneous combustion that seemed to be in the news at the time. Not a natural fibre in sight.
