Regular readers may recognise the picture of Tarzan and The Supremes dressed as Nuns from a previous post Hanging out with Diana Ross. After finding the photo of Ron Ely with the Motown girl group, we thought we’d try and find the whole episode somewhere in the depths of the internet – And we found it!

Here we have the soul sisters starring alongside Tarzan in a 1968 episode called The Convert. Watch the girls make their entrance on a rowing boat while singing “Michael row the boat ashore” (see what they did there) just before it overturns and they’re saved by Tarzan. Also keep an eye out for “The voice of Darth Vader” actor James Earl Jones, who plays the tribal chief.
