Before President Nixon coined the term ‘War on Drugs’ in 1971 the approach to drug awareness education in the States had a gentler and more informative feel than the scaremongering that seemed to follow. Government policies on drug use are a debate for another time and another place but we do like these drug education posters and books from 1960s America with their almost psychedelic feel and surprisingly objective guides to different narcotics. Turn on, tune in, put the kettle on and enjoy.
