Here we have the band Chicago rocking out in a fun packed video shot at the Caribou ranch at the famous Colorado studio. The performance was part of a television special called Meanwhile, Back at the ranch, the show was aired for the first time on August 16th 1974.Previously the band had recorded another TV special at the same ranch in 1973 called “Chicago High in the Rockies”. The band went on to record five of their albums at the studio.

The studio was built in 1972 in an old barn.Elton John recorded several LPs there, including the album “Caribou” named after the ranch studio. He also recorded a cover version of the Beatles “Lucy in the sky with diamonds” with John Lennon.Stephen Stills, Earth Wind and Fire, Carl Wilson, Blood Sweat and Tears, America, Deep Purple, Carole King, Jeff Beck, Supertramp, War and Rod Stewart also spent time at the famous studio.

The studio closed down in 1985 after a fire destroyed the control room. The blaze caused around three million dollars in damage to the converted barn studio.

In the meantime, enjoy some Funky Rock in the studio, Horse riding, motorbike scrambling, shooting tin cans and a slice of melon eating in the great outdoors with Chicago’s finest.
